ALEC Twitter Post Featured on KLKN News

Incoming UNL Freshman and FFA Officers

On Tuesday morning an ALEC Twitter post highlighting two outstanding ALEC students was featured on the KLKN News "You Post, We Report" segment. Incoming students, Faith Santana and Megan Fehr, committed a year of service to Nebraska FFA, its members and the agriculture industry as State Officers. Santana and Fehr, along with five other team members, were responsible for facilitating FFA conferences, meeting with business and industry representatives, traveling statewide to FFA chapters, serving as delegates at the National FFA Convention, and more.

48 ALEC Students Named to CASNR Dean’s List

48 ALEC students were named to the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Dean’s List for Spring 2019.  Qualification for the CASNR Dean’s List is a minimum 3.75 grade-point average based on a four-point scale and minimum of 12 graded semester hours.

In May, a group of students led by Dr. LJ McElravy and Dr. Nathan Conner traveled to Rwanda to learn about the history, culture, agricultural and environmental practices of the region. In addition, the group explored and studied how arts-based digital storytelling techniques can be used for engaging public audiences in positive change movements.

Courtney Albrecht, ALEC Senior, will be joining 8 other University of Nebraska-Lincoln Rural Futures Institute’s students with the Student Serviceship program this summer. The RFI program will send students out in the rural communities to help with community improvement projects as part of their summer mentorship program. It will connect students with mentors from the community to complete strategic, future-focused projects.
